Corporate Associate / Chicago or Dallas
A top firm is seeking an associate with 5-8 years of experience to join their team in either Dallas or Chicago. This practice group is integrated nationally and principally handles M&A matters for publicly and privately held middle market/upper middle market companies, private equity funds, family offices and others. This position primarily will involve working on US-based transactions with internal colleagues in Dallas, Chicago, and other offices. Qualified candidates must have experience working on mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, venture capital/early stage financings, joint ventures, partnerships, and/or other commercial transactions experience in addition to general corporate experience. Strong writing and communication skills are required. The ideal candidate also will have sophisticated document drafting skill and the ability to manage transactions and complex projects and act as a second chair on M&A transactions. The candidate must be comfortable with direct interaction with both partners and clients and have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional work ethic, coupled with a desire to be part of a fast-paced, growing and collaborative environment. To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the state(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Texas Bar or Illinois Bar, as applicable, will be a condition of employment.
