Attorney / San Francisco – Litigation

A growing law firm with a wealth of high-tech clients seeking an experienced attorney with privacy and data security experience to join their team. The position requires a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment. The applicant should be an excellent writer and oral advocate and be able to manage client matters with little supervision. The attorney will regularly work with technology clients on all matters of privacy and data security compliance. Litigation experience is a plus. And, of course,the ideal candidate will be fun to work with and be adept at building client relationships.  The ideal candidate is an attorney with between five and fifteen years of experience, including privacy and data security counseling of technology companies. Candidates will have worked closely with clients and have demonstrated experience: Counseling on compliance with federal and state privacy statutes, including telemarketing laws, ECPA, FCRA, HIPAA, COPPA, and CalOPPA; Drafting, revising, and negotiating privacy-related provisions in contracts; Drafting and revising privacy policies and terms of use; Counseling on self-regulatory standards, including those affecting online advertising; Representing companies in regulatory investigations; Counseling on data breach remediation and notification; Counseling on foreign data privacy laws, especially laws of the European Union; Defending companies in privacy-related litigation; CIPP certification is preferred, but not required.  Salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
