Regulatory Associate / Washington, D.C.

A global law firm is seeking an associate with 2-3 years of regulatory and/or policy experience to join its nationally recognized Public Policy and Law practice in their Washington, D.C. office. The successful candidate will join the firm as a regulatory / policy associate and will work on a broad portfolio of regulatory and competition law policy issues, legislation and enforcement matters. Issue areas include postal/logistics, technology and cybersecurity/privacy. The ideal candidate will have as many of these attributes as possible: Direct legal experience in the area, specifically through private practice. Significant experience working in a regulated industry. Undergraduate degree in Economics and/or Political Science is preferred but not required. Previous governmental (Congress; Administration) experience a plus. Strong research, analytical, evaluative, and constructive thinking skills, particularly the ability to distill complex issues. Excellent communications skills (both oral and written). Strong project management skills, with ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple projects on tight timeframes while being thorough and detail-oriented.
