Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate / 2-4 yrs. / Mountain View (Silicon Valley) or New York
A Chambers-ranked Privacy & Security practice is seeking a Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate with two to four years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law as it relates to business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, licensing and other technology transactions, and general commercial contracting. This position may be filled in Mountain View (Silicon Valley) or New York. The practice serves technology and life sciences companies, from innovators to market leaders in such industries as artificial intelligence, social media, gaming, cybersecurity, autonomous vehicles, cryptocurrency, and digital health care. Associates must have a solid understanding of federal privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, GLBA, FCRA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, and the FTC Act), state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA), international privacy laws and regimes (e.g., GDPR), and technology and data flows; Additionally, the associate must have experience conducting due diligence for M&A and financings, drafting privacy and security policies, negotiating privacy-related contracts and data processing agreements, providing product counseling, and conducting privacy compliance assessments. Experience with adtech and AI is desirable but not essential. California or New York bar membership (as appropriate) or eligibility to take the next available exam is required. The anticipated range for this position is: $235,000 – $310,000.
