Patent Attorney / 4+ yrs. / Multiple Office Locations
A well-established East Coast-based law firm with national and international reach is seeking a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent with a minimum of 4 years of patent prosecution experience to join its dynamic Intellectual Property practice. This role offers the flexibility to work from either Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington, D.C.
This position focuses primarily on life sciences and offers the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary Patent team on sophisticated matters. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating patentability across diverse technologies.
- Preparing, drafting, and filing U.S. patent applications.
- Prosecuting U.S. patents and coordinating with foreign counsel.
- Supporting IP due diligence projects and strategic portfolio management.
- Conducting legal and technical research on patent and IP matters.
- Advising on IP strategy and collaborating across teams and clients.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
- Ph.D. in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a related life sciences field.
- USPTO registration (or eligibility to sit for the Patent Bar).
- State bar admission in good standing (for attorneys).
- Experience with mechanical or electrical patent prosecution is a plus.
