A national apartment developer and operator headquartered in Wellington, FL has asked us to help them search for a business savvy and motivated attorney to join their small but growing in-house counsel team. Wellington, FL is in the West Palm Beach area.
About the Company: Over it’s 25-year history, the Company has developed or acquired over $7.5 billion in multifamily and student housing real estate. Additionally, it manages for itself and third parties, over 20,000 apartment units, primarily for institutional investors. As a vertically integrated company, the company’s subsidiaries also manage, construct, renovate, and asset manage apartments across its national footprint which includes Florida, the Carolinas, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, Texas, and Tennessee, where it also maintains offices. The company has over 500 employees and growing. The company is currently in growth mode and is looking to expand its in-house legal department, which is responsible for overseeing and managing its outside legal work, as well as compliance, asset management and risk management functions.
What the Company is looking for: an attorney with at least three years experience to assist its general counsel and corporate paralegal in managing the above functions, including managing vendor relationships, its litigation portfolio, and enhancing its internal compliance function. The attorney should have experience drafting and reviewing contracts, handling compliance and regulatory matters, and managing portfolios. This attorney will participate in due diligence and transaction activities in connection with the Company’s acquisition and development projects. This is an in-office position. There is room for advancement.
